Interview with 2015 Duke Recruit Brandon Ingram
Brandon Ingram is a very talented 2015 small forward recruit, currently ranked 15th in the class of 2015. Ingram plays high school basketball for Kinston High School in North Carolina, which is less than 2 hours from Duke’s campus. He is a very talented player and someone that Duke has shown a lot of interest in. Duke would be very fortunate to get this very talented player and I hope he receives an offer from Duke soon.
Thomas Eames: When did you first hear from Duke? Do you expect an offer from them soon?
Brandon Ingram: I first heard from Duke early in December. They made their first appearance to a game of mine for the Kinston vs Hunt game, where I scored 27 with 8 boards. I am being very patient, an offer could come at any time.
Thomas Eames: What about Duke is attractive to you as a student athlete?
Brandon Ingram: I love their style of play. At my position, you have to know how to shoot it and that's what I do well. I love their transition play and they just get after it offensively and defensively. They also have great history.
Thomas Eames: If you decided to attend Duke, what would you bring to the team?
Brandon Ingram: I would bring a lot of energy, I love to get after it. I would bring a versatile skill set, sometimes sitting on the block against smaller defenders, shooting my jumper, but also not settling. I have the ability to drive also and finish at the rim, and getting out in transition. Defensively, I can get my hands on the ball, deflections and also being able to block shots.
Thomas Eames: Do you plan on visiting Duke for a game over the rest of the season?
Brandon Ingram: Yes I plan on making it back. I am trying to look at the schedule for a game that is convenient for my basketball schedule.
Thomas Eames: What other schools are high on your list right now?
Brandon Ingram: I have offers from Clemson, Louisville, Minnesota, North Carolina, NC State, VCU, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. I also have interest from ECU, Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and of course Duke.
Thomas Eames: Do you have a timetable to cut your list and eventually make a decision?
Brandon Ingram: My plan is to make a decision after this summer.
Thomas Eames: Do you have any last things you want Duke fans to know about you?
Brandon Ingram: I just love the atmosphere and I love the fans. They make the gym rock every night & are great supporters!
Thomas Eames: Thanks so much for your time and best of luck in your high school season and college decision.
Brandon Ingram: Thank you! I appreciate it. Good talking to you.
